Automated and Semi Automated Malt Intake Systems
The Automated System
The automated system is designed for breweries who wish to purchase their malt in bulk. On delivery the malt is conveyed into a malt silo/ hopper the grain is discharged from the hopper into a conveyor. From the conveyor it is transferred into a vertical bucket and belt elevator to be fed into the precision mill. The grist is discharged from the mill into a second vertical bucket and belt elevator specifically designed for the gentle handling of the grist which may be transferred either into a grist case or directly into the mash tun. The above design is ideally suited to be operated by a computer, air fed or manual start up operations. The above systems are designed and built to suit the size of malt intake required.
Semi Automated System
We have designed this system for breweries who purchase malt in 25 or 50 kilo sacks. Incorporated in the design is a tipping hopper into which the Malt is emptied. The malt is transferred into the mill via a vertical bucket and belt elevator. The grist is then discharged from the mill into a second vertical bucket and belt elevator which has been specifically designed for the gentle handling of the grist. The grist then may be transferred into a grist case or directly into the mash tun. By pressing three start buttons the system is a simple efficient way transferring sacks of malt into the mash tun, saving on grinding charges, receiving the preferred grind required, with maximum extract.
The above system is ideally suited where space is at a premium and may be condensed in a floor area of 3.5 x 1. 5 metres.
