Manufacturers of Malt Mills and Malt Mill Intake Systems
Alan Ruddock Engineering specialises in the design and fabrication of highly efficient two & four & six roll precision Malt Mills and Malt Intake Systems for the Brewing & Distilling Industry. The owner, Alan Ruddock, prior to forming his own Precision Engineering Company in 1984 was employed and served his apprenticeship with Robert Boby Engineering at their factory in Bury St Edmunds.
AR 2000 & AR 3000 Precision Mills
Currently we are offering a range of technically designed
Mills for the
brewing, distilling and other food industries
which require a milling application.
We manufacture a range of two, four and six roll precision
mills constructed with the highest-grade materials and
components. The AR 2000 range of mills are available in two,
four and six roll configuration up to three tonnes per hour.
The AR 3000 Mills are available in four and six roll
configuration with a capacity up to ten tonnes per hour.
In the development of our AR 2000 and AR 3000 Precision Malt
Mills we have focused on key factors such as precision
adjustability, dust and noise control, health and safety
and minimising downtime. All our mills are fully enclosed.
The majority of our machines are installed in breweries and
distilleries where the risk of product contamination and
health hazards from grist dust could lead to respiratory
problems such as silicosis. To comply with Health and Safety
Standards and protection from environmental hazards all
mechanical parts are totally guarded.
Our mills are precision engineered to the highest British
engineering standards with precise accurate roll setting,
simply operated by positive drive analogue dials, delivering
maximum extract from the malt and grain. This also applies
to flour and other food product milling where the exact
grind is required.
The special drive system eliminates gears, reduces noise and
runs virtually maintenance free. The system generates the
free movement of the high grade hardened steel rolls which
are supported by sealed bearings. All mills are adapted to
individual requirements and are supplied with motor guards
etc. Whilst benefiting from all the advantages of precision
milling a key factor for breweries and distilleries is the
saving of up to £30 per tonne, which can be offset against
the purchase of a mill

In addition to supplying
machinery to the brewing and distilling industry resulting
from the engineering experience gained at Robert Boby we are
able to specialise in servicing & rebuilding mills
including a roller bearing conversion for Boby Mills.
